On Hold

The akumamusic.com domain name expired, and I haven't bothered renewing it. My music and DS Recordings are currently on hold due to life constraints. Setting up shop in Australia isn't viable right now, as I have no idea whether I'll be staying here or not.

I may continue to post works-in-progress to the Soundcloud page in the meantime.

DSR & Akuma

Hey,

There is some new progress on the Akuma website, the new EP and the launch of Demon Sound Records.

Both the Akuma website and DSR will launch this weekend. Sadly, I've made the decision to close this blog. I feel that I no longer have a need for it. It really acted as a temporary placeholder to release my music through, and I feel like no one reads it anyway.

The tutorials blog will stay open. I still want to write a lot of articles and give something back to producers alike.

DSR will go live simultaneously with the new Akuma site, and the bew EP will launch roughly around the same period. It has a name, which has changed from what I mentioned in an earlier post.

Shatter/Twist

Pre-release artwork will go up on the DSR site.

Keep your eyes peeled, and don't feel surprised if you get a strange new webpage when locating to akumamusic.com after this weekend.

Demon Sounds

Hey all,

I know I keep promising a new EP, and that is coming! But, I'm waiting to get a couple more things finished before I release. Here's the breakdown:

Firstly, I've written some articles for the tutorials site (akumatutorials.blogspot.com), which I'm in the process of polishing up. There's several including layering drum sounds, eq'ing and compressing drums, creating bass sounds using Rob Papen's BLUE synthesizer, and some general FL Studio tips and tricks.

The second thing is the "relocation of this blog". Basically, AkumaMusic.com will no longer point to this blog, and will soon point to a new snazzy website. You will still be able to reach here using the old (and still working) URL: http://akumamusic.blogspot.com/. Eventually I'll point a subdomain here, something like blog.akumamusic.com, not quite decided on that yet.

The third thing is something I don't think I've mentioned yet. Demon Sound Recordings, a new independent, internet based electronic music label, aimed at boosting uknown artists into the scene. I'll be releasing my two recent EP's (Choatica & Sabotage) on this label officially, and I'll be releasing the new EP via DSR when it goes live.

The website is currently in development, and isn't far off completion. All the changes will happen at once, so AkumaMusic.com will most likely go down for 24 hours, and when it comes back online, all the new information on this blog, the new Akuma website and the new DSR website will be unveiled.

Keep your eyes peeled, there are things afoot.

Oh, and as a side note: for anyone who enjoys spending their time hanging out in IRC channels, I'm starting to frequent #dnbproduction on EFNET for anyone who fancies the "crack".

Bye!

SOPA & PIPA

Hi all,

Since I'm unable to black out this blog, I can't fully join in today's protest against SOPA & PIPA. But I ask that you please visit http://www.fightforthefuture.org/ - sign the petition, and do your bit to oppose SOPA & PIPA which undoubtedly will restrict our rights to free speech on the internet.

A Teaser

Just a quick word on the upcoming EP. It now has a name: "Silkworm/Recharge". I'm not sure on a relase date yet, but hopefully I'll get the ball moving to release them as soon as possible!

The internet DJ session I mentioned in the last post probably won't be a go-ahead due to me having a few too many things on this month, but I will be doing the first podcast some time within the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled!

I'm also going to start posting some articles to my tutorials blog this weekend, with some insights of creating heavy bass sounds with the Rob Papen BLUE synthesizer, focusing on using techniques such as FM synthesis, using notch filters and BLUE's built in FX to further shape your sounds.

I'll also look at creating some dark pads using FL Studio's built in features.

Over and out!

Moving Forwards

Hello people!

Well, it's been a week or so since I released the Sabotage EP. The ReverbNation, Twitter and Facebook page are all receiving some increased interest, which is all good. But, if you know me, it doesn't stop there.

I'm on my way to finishing another EP. This one is slightly smaller, with two pure DnB tracks, and if I may say so myself, they're sounding pretty awesome.

I'm working on creating a monthly podcast as well, where I'm going to feature unsigned DnB artists, and play you some of their tracks. I'll also be giving you some updates on the general world of DnB, and maybe some reviews as well.

I also have an internet DJing session, which is scheduled to be about 2 hours long (at the moment). It will be held in January, and I'll provide a listen in link closer to the date. Be sure to check this blog, the twitter feed or the facebook page to recieve the link so that you can listen when it goes live. Most of the tracks played will be unsigned DnB, Dubstep & Electro artists. I'll make sure I'll post a full track list with links to the artists pages and websites on this blog, the day of the session.

Just another quick note, I'm going to try and schedule the session for 8PM British time, which means I'll actually be doing it at 4AM my time (Western Australia), which is a slight pain in the arse, but ah well. The session will be left up to stream as many times as you want for about a month (depending on artist approval).

Make sure you check out the ReverbNation account (www.reverbnation.com/akumadnb) to listen to Sabotage, and keep your feed-eyes posted for the new EP due to be out in a couple of weeks.

That's all from me,
Brad

Akuma Presents: SABOTAGE

Track list:

1. Sabotage
2. On the Edge
3. Shades
4. One Nation

SABOTAGE is free to download! Stream versions will be added to the YouTube, Soundcloud and MySpace accounts.

So a little explanation on this one. These are all brand new tracks (no reworks). SABOTAGE and ON THE EDGE are straight up hard hitting DnB, SHADES is an atmospheric one, and ONE NATION is more of a Dubstep style song.
